Basic conversations

So, today I just want to talk about how important conversations are even when they are really really basic. Humans are social animals and one little conversation can go a long way. Today, I had a conversation with my dad about stocks and shares, my research project, his company meetings and the future (yes that is one important thing dads always talk about). Is it not adorable how our parents worry so much about us, about giving us a lifestyle that they think we deserve? Their life revolves around their children and they are constantly working their asses off (ooops inappropriate), sacrificing their own wants and pleasures just to give us a lifestyle that we deserve.

I have had multiple fights with my dad where we both have thrown tantrums at each other, said things that we should not have said and then apologized to each other. But if it wasn’t for the fights and the bickering, we might not be at this place and we might not even have this equation. Even when we lived in the same house and even when the both of us were at home the whole day, we would barely see each other twice and probably do a “sup” nod (kidding, it was not that bad). My point is, my equation with my dad is just weirdly amazing.

We both do not express our feelings that well but we just know that we both love each other so much. It is definitely beyond words. Today when I had that conversation with him, it was so nice knowing about his life, his problems, his perspective on things. Yes, we do talk about a lot of things normally but today I just felt that gratitude. It might seem like a normal thing but not a lot of people have a good equation with their dads, not a lot of people have someone they can learn things from; basic things like learning how to ride a bicycle or climbing rocks (probably not that basic) and complicated things like shares and stocks haha. I wanted to write this down to express the gratitude I feel today.

I am grateful for an amazing father and the basic conversations with him (that are actually pretty special to me and probably for most daddy’s little girls).
